February 15 is the day of remembrance of the death of the defender of Ukraine Serhiy Garkusha (06/12/1987 – 02/15/2024). A native of the village of Dachenske, Pokrovsky district, Serhiy Garkusha served in the border troops, after which he devoted his life to the difficult mining business. His career was connected with the mines "Zahidnaya" and "1/3 Novogrodivskaya", where he established himself as a conscientious and hardworking specialist. In civilian life, Serhiy was a caring son, brother and loving father who, together with his wife, raised two sons and dreamed of a peaceful future. From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man did not hesitate to join the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine to defend his native land and his family. On February 15, 2024, a soldier died while performing a combat mission to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.
