February 16 is the day of remembrance of the death of Oleg Morgun, a native of Novogrodivka (05/13/1971 - 02/16/2019). Oleg Morgun devoted 20 years of his life to service in the civil defense agencies. Holding the position of chief of the guard of the 75th state fire and rescue unit, the captain of the civil defense service selflessly stood guard over the safety of citizens. On February 16, 2019, while performing his duty to identify discovered ammunition near the village of Netailove, Yasynuvatsky district, an explosion occurred, as a result of which Oleg Morgun tragically died on the spot. By Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 149/2019 of April 18, 2019, for personal courage, heroism and loyalty to the oath, the rescuer was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd degree (posthumously). The bright memory of the defender was also honored with the "Badge of Honor" award from the Novogrodov city military administration (posthumously).
