December 19 is the day of remembrance of the defender of Ukraine, UAV operator of the 5th separate assault brigade, soldier Mykola Stupak (06.02.2003 - 19.12.2024), whose death was officially confirmed after a long period of uncertainty. A native of Novogrodivka, he was educated at the Selydiv Polytechnic College and worked at the 1/3 Novogrodivska mine, and after completing his military service in July 2022, he consciously signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The soldier courageously defended his native land, first as part of the Halka unit (military unit A1215), and later performed complex combat missions to detect and destroy enemy forces in the Bakhmut direction. The life of the brave 21-year-old defender was tragically cut short while performing a combat mission near the village of Ivanovske, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region. The hero was buried with military honors in the city of Odesa.
