August 31 is the day of remembrance of the death of the defender of Ukraine Bohdan Nikulin (06/13/1994 - 08/31/2023). Bohdan Nikulin was born in the city of Mariupol, and his family and wife Diana are associated with the Novogrodiv community. In 2019, he volunteered to defend his native land, joining the ranks of the 56th separate motorized infantry Mariupol brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Faithful to his military oath and the Ukrainian people, the soldier has consistently fought for the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of the state over the years. On August 31, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the area of the settlement of Tykhonivka in the Bakhmut direction, Bohdan heroically died. For exceptional courage, dedication, and significant personal contribution to the defense of Ukraine, the defender was honored with the "Badge of Honor" award from the Novogrodov city military administration (posthumously).
