October 13 is the day of memory of the defender of Ukraine, border guard Vasyl Morozenko (09.01.1973 - 13.10.2024), whose heart stopped after a long struggle with a serious illness caused by the war. A native of the village of Zhelanne Druhy, he completed military service, after which he worked in a coal mine and devoted many years to conscientious work at the company "Voda Donbasu" as a foreman of the emergency brigade. Vasyl Morozenko actively supported Ukrainian statehood during the events of the Donetsk Maidan in 2014, and in March 2022 he mobilized into the ranks of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The soldier selflessly defended the Motherland in the most difficult directions, in particular, he participated in the liberation of Lyman and held the defense near the invincible Bakhmut. For his courage and bravery, the defender was repeatedly awarded with diplomas, and for his selfless service, he was awarded the award "For Honor and Bravery" (posthumously).
