March 18 is the day of remembrance of the death of the defender of Ukraine, a native of Novogrodivka, Andriy Polhorodnyk (03.07.1970 - 18.03.2022). Andriy Polhorodnyk received his secondary education at the secondary education institution No. 10 of the city of Novogrodivka. Defending the sovereignty of Ukraine, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in the east of the country as part of the 28th separate mechanized brigade from February 2017 to February 2018. Subsequently, the sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued his service as a senior foreman in the 10th arsenal of weapons and ammunition in the city of Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region. Faithful to his military oath and the Ukrainian people, he courageously defended the Fatherland during the full-scale Russian invasion. On March 18, 2022, Sergeant Andriy Polhorodnyk died heroically while performing a combat mission.
