December 9 is the Day of Remembrance of Ivan Belozub (2002–2025), a senior rifleman-operator of the 2nd assault battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a native of the city of Novogrodivka. A student of Luhansk State Medical University, who dreamed of becoming a surgeon, in 2024 he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where, thanks to his knowledge of tactical medicine, he selflessly saved the lives of his comrades directly on the battlefield. The courageous soldier died on December 9, 2025 while performing a combat mission near the village of Katerynivka, Kramatorsk district, remaining faithful to his military oath and the Ukrainian people until his last breath.
