June 15 is the day of remembrance of the defender of Ukraine, junior lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmytro Kuryachyi (03.06.1985 – 15.06.2025), whose death was officially confirmed by the results of a DNA examination after several months of being missing. A native of the village of Kalynove, he received a higher education at the Donetsk Institute of Railway Transport and devoted more than 18 years to hard mining work at the Kotlyarevsky mine. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the defenders of the Motherland, performing difficult tasks on the front lines of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, for which he was awarded the Order of the President of Ukraine "For the Defense of Ukraine". The life of the brave officer was cut short in battle while defending his native land, and the Hero found his final resting place in the city of Stryi, Lviv region.
