Anna Shalya (2011 - 2024)
Anna Shalya was born in Novogrodivka. She studied in the sixth grade of the Novogrodivka Taras Shevchenko Secondary School No. 10. Anya grew up as an extremely sincere, talented and active child. She passionately adored animals, was enthusiastic about gymnastics, had many childhood dreams and big plans for the future.
The life of 12-year-old Anya was insidiously and cruelly cut short on May 2, 2024. That day, the girl and her family arrived in the village of Memryk to help her grandmother with the household chores. In the evening, the Russian army launched a massive strike on the private sector of the settlement with the Grad multiple launch rocket system.
One of the enemy shells hit a civilian car parked near the houses. Anna received serious injuries incompatible with life. Her grandmother Svitlana also died at the scene of the tragedy, and the girl's mother was hospitalized in serious condition.
The loss of this smiling, creative and cheerful girl is an unhealed pain for the entire Novogrodov community. The bright and pure memory of Anna Shalya will forever remain in the hearts of her family, teachers, school friends and everyone who cherishes the memory of innocent children whose lives were taken by war.
Bright memory and eternal peace to the little angel.
