September 6 is the day of remembrance of the defender of Ukraine, machine gunner of the third airborne assault battalion, soldier Denis Sergeev (11/26/1985 - 09/06/2025), whose death was officially confirmed by DNA examination after a period of obscurity. A native of Novogrodivka graduated from the local military establishment No. 7 and in civilian life worked as a communications network installer. In May 2025, the man consciously joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0284) to protect his family and the independence of our state. The soldier bravely performed his military duty and tragically died in battle as a result of enemy artillery fire near the settlement of Sadky, Sumy region. The hero was buried with full military honors in the village of Dovhe in the Lviv region.
