Svitlana Potapova (1958 - 2024)

Svitlana Potapova lived in the village of Memryk. She devoted most of her working life to hard work at the Kotlyarevskaya mine. Only a year before the tragedy, Svitlana Ivanovna took a well-deserved rest.

Fate tested her for strength: in November 2022, the woman experienced a heavy loss - the death of her husband. Despite this, she remained a hard-working, caring and devoted person to her family.

Svitlana Potapova's life was tragically cut short on May 2, 2024.

That day, her closest relatives - her daughter and 12-year-old granddaughter Anna - came to her home to help with the household chores. In the evening, Russian troops launched a massive strike on the private sector of the village of Memryk with the Grad multiple launch rocket system.

An enemy shell hit a civilian car parked near the house. Svitlana Potapova died on the spot from severe injuries incompatible with life. Her 12-year-old granddaughter Anya also died next to her. Svitlana's daughter was hospitalized in serious condition.

The death of Svitlana Potapova and her granddaughter is a heavy, irreparable loss for the entire Novogrodov community. Eternal and bright memory.
